Age: 18
DOB: January 9th, 19xx
ID: RHAF-086 [x]
Height/Weight: 168cm / 59kg [x]
Hometown/Region: Sootopolis Town, Hoenn
Voice: Englo-Australian.
Military Faction: Royal Hoennian Air Force (RHAF)
Extra Items:
  • Spanner: For Engineering purposes + Melee Combat. She's very particular about it being called a Spanner and not a Wrench.
  • Compass: Used to be her father's. Rayquaza Motif. Some dents and scratches on reverse.
  • Bandage/Hand Wraps: Uses these to cover her left arm from the elbow down when she can't find/wear her gloves. Has her initals stiched on one end. (RM)
  • Berryblock Lollies: For herself and her Pokemon (as treats). She keeps the wrappers from spent packets.
  • Small Pouch: Crafted from the remains of her late Ninjask's scarf, top is adorned with a few red and green shards. [x]

Personality:
They say that those who smile the most are the ones that are the most upset inside. Prior to her return from the RHAF's Fortree Headquarters, Rosetta seemed to be an upbeat, diligent worker whose endless blabbering about how great Hoenn is was just chalked down to one of her quirks. Those close to her might've noticed she'd been working harder and longer shifts since Ecruteak, especially since those she held dear to her began to disappear one by one, either claimed by war or defecting to the Rogue cause.

And then, when a near miss with a runaway glider uncovered a serious infection in her arm, she was confined to the medward and her depression began to emerge; no longer kept in check by her constant focus on work. Even then, most put down her newfound bitterness and foul moods to her inability to work and perpetual boredom. That she hadn't flown since Ecruteak and her plane had been scrapped because of this didn't help either. She was later recalled and spirited back to Hoenn one morning, returning not quite a month later along with a new, Hoennian aircraft ('Smaragddrache'). She seemed happy, though those close to her knew things hadn't improved much.

Nowadays she's retained her snark and remains quite bitter to those she doesn't know. Somewhere there's still the bright, cheery lass from Sootopolis, however those moments are increasingly rare.

Background:
Born to father James Red Baron 'Jade Talon' Montague and wife Rebecca in Fallarbor Town, they moved to Sootopolis not long after the Great War ended. Rosetta grew up with her 3 brothers (1 elder, 2 younger (twins)) and ran afoul of a very influential girl, who thus made it her aim to ruin Rosetta's life as much as possible. It was these events that instilled in Rosetta her initial phobia of taller people and her distaste for the name 'Samantha' and its derivatives. (More about this. (Caution, lots of text)).

Eventually the two girls made peace, however School remained one of Rosetta's most disliked places and at the first chance she got Rosetta applied for and received an apprenticeship at MARDeC [x]. She loved everything about the facility, even if she stuck to the Assembly wing, working towards her Aircraftsman certificate. Over this time, she also learnt about some of the ancient traditions of Hoenn and upon finding there were a few pockets where they were still observed, came to a meeting of Rayquazists and -drawn in by the intricate nature of some of their traditions- eventually joined the faith herself.

Not 3 months short of her finishing her apprenticeship, war broke out up north and thanks to some tricky Johtoain legislation, all Hoennian conscripts were diverted to Johto's Military. When her elder brother fled at the first confirmation of war, Rosetta suddenly found herself being drafted into the Johto Air Force, unable to at least go into a technical division since she didn't have her piece of paper.

Round 1 (Illustration 1) (Illustration 3)
Of course that didn't really matter, because Leverett couldn't stand her constant going on about Hoenn and failed her the minute she flinched on the obstacle course, despite acing the flying test. Apparently relying on her Nincada's Protect move to defend against a Gyro Ball attack was a no-no. Soon she found herself being shipped back to Hoenn in apparent disgrace. Worse MARDeC's funding had been cut, forcing the facility to close and putting Rosetta out of work.

That was until her father called in a few favours and had her transferred into the RHAF as a Senior Aircraftwoman Technician, her time in Johto (mostly spent aiding the engineers in the hangars) proving enough for her to receive her piece of paper with little ceremony. Eventually her absence from the Johto hangars began to be noticed and the JAF proposed a liaison program, specifically meaning Rosetta would work again in Johto and remain RHAF. So once again, Rosetta found herself in Johto.

Round 2 (Page 1) Caution, It's a bit of an eldritch abomination.)
And then some bright spark thought it'd be a great idea to put Rosetta on an Aircraft Carrier whilst the Johto Air Force helped the Navy demonstrate their might in Undella. Naturally the ship was sunk and Rosetta's dislike for boats reinstated itself. She was quickly reassigned back to the hangars, partially due to the fact she had her Murkrow with her in Undella and the navy was too superstitious about the bird to let her come back willingly.

Not long afterwards, she found a crate washed ashore among more wreckage from Undella with some rusty parts inside, two of which were the gears of a Klang which she did her best to restore. In the next few months she also finally worked up the courage to express her romantic interest to Daniel Streak (who missed most of the point anyway) via a piece of Luvdisk metalcraft.

Round 3 (Draw Back In Entry)
Then came Ecruteak and everything started falling apart. It was her first time flying a plane in battle and though she flew well and managed to (temporally) down one enemy pilot, she came too close to the tower and her spitfire was disabled by Delancy's Jolteon. Managing to land safely, she was dismayed when she found her close friend Florence had joined the Rebels, Daniel had managed to be stabbed by his best mate who'd also 'gone green' and in the cleanup/salvage, her bunkmate Ivy managed to badly damage her arm.

Needless to say, Rosetta was not a happy camper - and that was before she felt the effects of her drastically increased workload. To make matters worse, she found her Ninjask critically wounded one afternoon after the Shedinja from its shell had tried to kill it (again). There were insect parts everywhere, as well as smouldering Shedinja and Ninjask remains.

Round 4 (Coming Soon)
Eventually Ivy returned to work and the workload began to ease. Then there was a mission to the Seafoam Islands Prison Complex and Rosetta was to instruct the pilots on how to tow the gliders. Of course one of the pilots who didn't pay attention snapped their tow-rope on takeoff and were it not for Rosetta's Murkrow using Psychic to knock her out of the way (evolving in the process) she would've been crushed by the Glider. Instead, she escaped with a minor bone fracture; however the medic attending her noticed an odd smell from her arm and discovered an infection, forcing Rosetta out of work until it healed or was big enough to remove.

A few days later she received orders to return to Hoenn, though they were blocked by Captain Haye who declared Rosetta unfit for travel. It wasn't long after this that she managed to sneak out after hearing rumours that Daniel had turned rogue after all. The couple met and both revealed their news, neither taking the other's departure well, the lack of time not helping. Not long after Rosetta's arm was operated on (removing the infection (and adding to her already severely scarred left arm)) and the moment she was declared 'fit for travel' she was taken back to Hoenn and the RHAF headquarters near Fortree, without a further goodbye.

Round 5 (Coming Soon)
Upon her return to Johto, Rosetta had been promoted to Chief Technician. She was also no longer on liaison with the JAF, instead a 'forward unit' to be given the odd mission but otherwise at work in the hangars once more, -only this time with a curfew. Her first such mission was to fly some paratroopers out to Mt. Silver; the drop off went without a hitch, but an unexpected blizzard forced her to land in the same valley in Mt Silver that claimed her father's squadron.

It was never quite clear how she managed to take off again when her plane had been half buried in snow. Nor was it clear what had happened in the snow, especially since she refused to identify anyone else she'd encountered during the ill fated mission. Regardless Rosetta now has a newfound mistrust in Johto, especially when she heard about just how they managed to also lose Snowpoint.

Round 6 (Coming Soon)
Various reports of Katcher's complete disregard for his nation's allies was the final straw for the Hoennian Patriot. As an act of rebellion, Rosetta and Ivy (for her own reasons) engineered a means to save some rogue captives from the noose. Though Ivy was caught, Rosetta managed to slip away merely directing the escapees to the exit, whilst preteneding to fight them with the rest of the assembled crowd. Hearing word of a mission to take out Katcher and re-install Rommel as DM, she (and Contralto) helped exploit a flaw in the Psychic wall protecting the ministry, enabling a party to go inside. Later, when the wall itself failed, she followed inside.

Therein she met up with her missing brother Conrad. Upon seeing his sister his mememories were restored, though in the process -something- affected her already unstable psyche and Rosetta flew into a beserker-like rage. Whilst this helped them dispach some of Katcher's reinforcements, it was nearly at the cost of Conrad's recently recovered life. Managing to calm her down, they resolved to get to the safety of Hoenn.

Round 7 (Coming Soon)
In an attempt to divert Kantoian forces from Saffron, Katcher had ordered the Hoenn Navy blockade Port Vermillion. When news of Saffron reached both forces however, they agreed to a truce and it wasn't long after that Hoennian forces were ordered to withdraw from all operations that were only for Johto's benefit. Peace talks were soon initiated with Kanto and though still ongoing, open combat between Hoennian and Kantioan powers has reached an uneasy standstill.

(More to follow)

Notes:
- For the record, Rosetta is extremely particular about using the right terminology for things (eg: It's a Spanner not a Wrench) and gets quite angry when she sees someone goofing off when there's work to be done or they're doing it in an inefficient or unsafe manner.
- In her highly irritable state, she takes less notice of a person's height and will only seize up when someone's right in front of her and standing head and shoulders above. (Such as Rommel).
- She's still a devout follower of Rayquaza and still plays it down, however with her Rayquazist markings, the outside observer would notice there's something a bit more than national pride going on.
- Almost always wears her hat and gloves. Or bandages on her Left arm if Gloves aren't an option.
- She can speak conversational Sootopolisian (Greek). However thanks to Natasa, she can swear quite fluently in the tongue.
- Her fighting style is an adapted form of Eskrima, learned from her Seviian Foreman back at MARDeC. She's surprisingly good at improvising weapons, though still likes to fight with her Spanner.
- Occasionally people would be brought over from Mistralton to help out at MARDeC during their busy season. Rosetta didn't like their attitude one bit and strongly believes all people from Mistralton are 'useless, unprofessional layabouts'.
- During her 2nd year as an apprentice, her lower left arm was accidently subject to a severe steam burn. Upon her return to MARDeC, they gave Rosetta her Salamence-hide gloves as a welcome-back/apology gift.
- Since MARDeC's closure, most of its operations have been absorbed by the RHAF's Fortree Base.
- Like many others, Rosetta can dance. It's a shame she hasn't seen the last person she danced with since Undella.

Interpersonal:
:bulletblue: Yvette 'Ivy' Devon (Bunkmate/Colleague/Close Friend/The Brock to Rosetta's Misty)
:bulletblue: Natasa Katsaros (Colleague/Friend)
:bulletblue: Tessa Munroe (Friend)
:bulletgreen: Daniel Streak (Boyfriend..?)
:bulletgreen: Florence McKinley (Ex-Colleague/A Former Friend?)
:bulletgreen: Joshua Imala (Friend?)
:bulletgreen: Rudy Jones (Her Rival in an ongoing Sea vs. Sky debate, that's been put on hold due to her changed Allegiance)
:bulletgreen: Conrad 'Frog' Montague (Her formely missing brother)
:bulletred: Jackie Moon (Obligatory Kantoian Nemesis, also from Sootopolis)

Pokemon:
Rosetta treats her Pokemon fairly and does her best to respect their wishes. This'd make her great Rogue material, were it not for the fact she's so damn loyal to Hoenn.

Stewart/Gamble | DECEASED
Killed by the Shedinja that came from their Nincada shell. As a slight consolation, the Shedinja was also permanently killed in the process.

Contralto | Seviian Honchkrow | Sassy | Insomnia | Female
Native to: North Chrono Island, Sevii Islands
R2: Perish Song | Spite | Haze | Feint Attack
R3: Perish Song | Spite | Haze | Psychic

R4: Perish Song | Spite | Quash | Psychic
The 'illegitimate' offspring of a Murkrow belonging to a Honchkrow and an Altaria, Contralto was never liked by her Honchkrow and was tormented any chance she got by the literal monster. Her only solace was when her father taught her to sing; however her Honchkrow ordered him dead one day, just because he was feeling extra mean. Eventually Contralto mistook an enemy Murkrow for a friendly one and as a result her Honchkrow 'exiled' her, leaving the bird open prey to the island's dangers.

Except her singing ability was noticed by some Pokemon Hunters nearby and she was captured and added to Johto's forces. Things came to pass and she wound up with Rosetta, initially only obeying her because she mistook the Hoennian's hat for that of a Honchkrow. However their bond developed over time and when she saw the imminent danger of the runaway glider heading straight for Rosetta, she evolved and used her newfound mental strength to Psychic Rosetta out of the way.

- Named by Rosetta for her vocal range, she's a literal and perfect contralto.
- Mentally, she's quite similar to an Altaria. (Musicality, Disdain for dirt...)
- Rather than become obsessed with shiny objects, she only ever had the one necklace and pendant and is fiercely jealous of it. Touch it without her consent and she'll make sure you regret it.
- Her 'hat' feathers was damaged when she saved Rosetta, however she likes it the way it is and it developed into a permanent kink. She's also quite fond of her 'Altaria Feathers'.

Gigi | UNDER REPAIR
After some faulty machinery it was powering fell to pieces, the Klang suffered extreme damage and whilst still alive, is rendered useless until Rosetta can fix it; however given she can only work on it in her free time, this process could take years...
In light of this, her COs in Hoenn allowed her Aerfen.

Regulus | Lucario(o) | Cranky/Cynical | Steadfast | Male
Native to: The Military [x].
R4: Aura Sphere [x] | Blaze Kick | Heal Pulse [x] | Stone Edge [x]
Monday Evening. Three men walk into a bar and start discussing the day's work. It inevitably turns towards the Pokeball Project and then they talk about what they could use it for. One suggests using Kangaskahn as a medic, another says its instincts are good but it isn't smart enough. The first suggests Lucario, but the second shoots that idea down too. And then the third comes up with the idea of having a Kangaskahn/Lucario cross, despite knowing full well the two species of Pokemon can't breed.

Thirty-five years later and Regi is being handballed to a different section of the military again. He's long since given up on the humans that've made up his entire world and refuses to cooperate. Once again he found himself in the 'reserve' pokemon, which was just a fancy name for 'training fodder for young and weak critters". Eventually his handler had a plan. There was some RHAF person sick in the medward whose bug had died or something. If he could transfer the Lucario to her, Regi would be Hoenn's problem and no longer Johto's!

Nowadays Regi prefers to go find somewhere peaceful and quiet. He won't admit that he's grateful to Rosetta for letting him do that, nor will he willingly encourage a bond between him and the Hoennian. Why should he care about the state of her Aura?

- Regi was trained as a field medic but for reasons as yet unrevealed was booted out. (This was long before Harpy took over) Though unable to officially treat injuries, first aid is first aid regardless of the practitioner.
- Strongly dislikes it when his peace and quiet is disrupted.
- For the record, his Mother was a Lucario and his father was a Rhyperior. He has Kangaskahn grandparents and it's from them he inherited most of his genes.
- Many mistake his occasional tips or fragments of advice as kindness, but that's just the medic in him checking that they know they can do X whilst he's giving them the cold shoulder.

Aerfen Fflamddwyn (IRE-ven FLAM-thwin) | Salamence | Proud | Moxie | Male
Native to: Meteor Falls, Hoenn
R6: Dragon Pulse | Fire Fang | Dragon Tail | Iron Defense
A long time ago, Rosetta's ancestors once coexisted with the Dragons of Meteor Falls, who granted them 'domain' over the region streching from Hoenn's Route 113 to Route 114. Aerfen was just an Egg at this point in time, but it was still paying attention to all around it. A few hundred years later and the middle-aged Salamence returned to his cave, deep within the moutain one day, only to find humans waiting to ambush him, cursing him with some strange rock's demonic red gaze. He quickly learnt how fragile these devices were and soon destroyed it, forcing him to stay in Hoenn inside a special and secret enclosure. It was quickly found Aerfen was too powerful to be given to just any soldier and it'd probably raze the entire base should it be released, so it was left in it's 'cage'.

As it were, Rosetta was unwittingly walking near Aerfen's enclosure one day, when -something- happened, causing both human and beast to stagger as if thrown off balence. Recognising a familiar presence, like the humans he'd 'felt' whilst still in his egg, Aerfen tried calling out to Rosetta, but in vain. The event did not go unnoticed (especially since it happened twice afterwards) and eventually Rosetta was introduced to Aerfen. With Regulus as translator, Aerfen and Rosetta soon came to an agreement: Aerfen would follow Rosetta, honouring the lass' family legacy whilst Rosetta would arrange to take Aerfen back to Meteor Falls, once it was no longer under threat of the human war.

Of course, there still remains why they both have a constant headache whilst in the other's presence...

- Aerfen is Welsh for 'Renown in Battle' and Fflamddwyn meaning 'Flame-bearer'. These names were bestowed upon it by his late parents.
- Neither Contralto nor Regulus can effect nor recognise what causes these headaches, at least deducing it's neither a Psychic or Dark energy or Aura that causes Aerfen and Rosetta's headaches.
- The only creature Aerfen will willingly concede to without question is Rayquaza.

Team relations:
Contralto:
- Having known Rosetta the longest out of the current team, they've the strongest bond and work well together.
- She and Regi presently have a stronger bond than Rosetta and Regi, purely because the Honchkrow likes to use Regi's knack for finding peace and quiet to her advantage.
- Gigi just confuses Contralto to no end, but she likes its simple disposition. Being the one that freed the trapped Klang from the metal, she feels slightly guilty about it's current state.
- Aerfen's mere presence spooks her and it takes all of her willpower to just remain still on her perch. She'll happily avoid him.
Her wry sense of humour has often been a source of confusion for both pilots and Pokemon alike. She's still a bit too self-centred to make friends without effort on her part, however she'll gladly show off. She thinks Silas is silly for choosing to walk instead of fly and tries to coax him into trying the activity with varying degrees of failure.
She has a 'thing' for smart, humanoid fighting types. Primarily Peace (and Regulus to a lesser degree).
Regi:
- Understands Rosetta to be some kind of 'Machine Medic'. She lets him do his own thing most of the time and he returns the favour by not being too cranky when asked to help out with a task Rosetta can't do by herself.
- He doesn't object to Contralto's presence, however one note lased with Perish Song and she's toast.
- He eventually allowed Gigi to follow him about from time to time, especially when Aura Spheres and Blaze Kicks wouldn't deter it. Regi pretends not to care that Gigi is all but gone.
- One the one hand, he doesn't mind that Aerfen's presence deters many smaller Pokemon from interupting his quiet time. On the other, he tollerates the Dragon out of respect and the fact he's not too keen on being subject to another round of Fire Fang versus Stone Edge.
Regi is too cranky, cynical and closed up to communicate more than necessary with other creatures, without immense effort on their part. He has no quarter for anyone who tries to assert themselves over him, which is one of the many reasons the military has earned his ire.
Aerfen:
- Though he's grown accustomed to them, Aerfen still doesn't like the fact he's always got a headache which worcens whenever Rosetta is nearby. He lothes the fact she wears gloves made from the hide of his kin, but having seen what she can do, he's put that issue aside while war is at hand.
- After it fought Regulus on their first encounter (who was defending Rosetta at the time), Aerfen gained a respect for the Lucario's ablities and vice versa. Since isolation is all but impossible, it truly values the fact that Regi can find spots nearly devoid of outside sound.
- Does not trust Contralto at all and always keeps an eye on her whenever she's around. He'd permanantly silence her, were it not for the fact he hates being 'cursed' by the small rocks even more.
- Aerfen has heard whispers of a Pokemon that resembles the human's 'Machines', however it doesn't belive them since it's never layed eyes on Gigi.
Aerfen still dosen't get why so many Pokemon allow themselves to be subject to the 'Pebble Curse'. Having spent most of it's life alone, it doesn't take well to company and (unless Rosetta or Regulus are around to stop him) will lash out without a second thought at anything that tries to go near it.
